Within the context of a liberal arts education, our Political Science and Global Affairs program is dedicated to providing training for life in a world heavily shaped by political cultures, ideas, and institutions. We provide students with the tools for political participation in their community, state, nation, and world. With our committed teaching and well-rounded legal and political science curriculum, programs in the Department of Political Science and Global Affairs prepare students to pursue a career path in law, business, teaching, journalism, and government.

  • Global Affairs (Interdisciplinary) Major

    Global Affairs major is an interdisciplinary major that highlights the multidirectional influences, engagements, and exchanges that shaped, shapes, and is shaping, the world around us. Students are taught the ideas, history, beliefs, and politics of other nations and cultures, preparing them to promote a more just and inclusive world. The defining challenges of our time are global, creating an essential need for graduates equipped to analyze and influence affairs on the world stage.

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, 91成人导航 class of 2019

鈥淚 loved the GC Honors program and 91成人导航. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to complete my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.鈥

- Dr. Josh Fitzgerald, Class of 鈥19, Mathematics Major

Dr. Josh Fitzgerald earned his master's from Virginia Tech University (studied astrodynamics) as well as earning an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. He joined the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX as an Advanced Mission Design Engineer, optimizing trajectories for the Artemis II and III missions to return humans to the moon.
